flying birds

What seemed to be an endless Minnesota winter has finally (said with fingers crossed) come to an end and Spring is here full force.

Each morning I check the flower beds to see which new plants are poking through the ground and it's fun to check the bird feeders to see if there are any new songbirds that have made the northern migration. I love watching the ducks and geese flying overhead as they return for the season.

But I've never seen any birds quite as cute as these little guys from my friend, Roc Nicholas...

I love this flying bird stamp by Roc Nicholas. This and the whole line of Roc's rubber stamps are available at

I hope you are enjoying your Spring, wherever you are.

Playing with some new paints

This morning I watched a video by Connie Hozvicka at Dirty Footprints Studio and by the time it was over I could hardly wait to get out my journal.

I have a few new colors of Golden paints that I've been itching to try so after the video I pulled them out and played.

This is what I ended up with. I wish I'd taken pictures at various stages along the way because I at different times I saw the spread going an entirely different way.

Thanks Connie, for the inspiration today!
