3 girls

I have been trying to focus on being more intuitive on my journal pages. I'm trying not to put so much thought and planning into the page; just start layering color and mediums and let it happen.

That is what I did with this piece. I looked at my background for awhile from different angles until I saw the outline for these faces begin to emerge for me.

I got the girls this far and thought I could be finished but there really didn't seem to be a point, just a trio of similar faces. So, once again, I looked at it for awhile from different angles and this is what happened next.
They are still just a trio of faces but I think they each have a little personality of their own now and I am much happier (and it's all about keeping me happy, right)!

hear blessings

Do you ever have those days where you just feel blah?

That's how I felt yesterday. I had no good reason for it, just felt like something was amiss. So I retreated to my art room and worked on this journal page.

I finished the page today with this quote by Rumi reminding me instead of dwelling on the bad (or blah) 'stuff' look at all the good and dwell on that instead!
So... as you go about your day, I hope that you too will "hear blessings dropping their blossoms around you".

La Vie Boheme

There's a huge collaboration going on at Deviant Scrap called La Vie Boheme and you should run, not walk, to check it out!

These are some cut & paste moleskine journal pages that I did using images from the new Tumble Fish Studio image kit La Vie Boheme.

There are more sample pages both cut & paste and digital eye candy at .
Thanks for stopping by.

Love on the Lam

Marsha (Tumble Fish Studio) and Hollie (Holliewood Studio) designers have collaborated on their most recent image kits "Love on the Lam". Both kits are available at

These are the spreads I did in my large Moleskine journal using a few images from the kits:

Stop by to pick up a kit or two and to see more examples both cut & paste and digital.

I finally had a chance to play in my newly redecorated art room today. Of course, as luck would have it, I had no clue what to do.

Instead of wasting the day stressing over it I just started slapping paint around and adding a bit of spray, my own stamp and finally ended up with a new journal page.

I love the irony of this page. There is nothing quiet or silent about it but somehow this Rumi quote seemed to work.
For today I had a great time getting full of paint. Tomorrow when I am mowing my lawn I will be silent and listen...
