Charity Wings (aka Scrapbook Royalty)

Charity Wings is a non-profit organization with a mission to be an inspiring place for people of all ages to Gather, Give Back and Create.

They are hosting their 4th annual fundraiser event this weekend and I was asked to consider contributing a piece for the silent auction.

This is my contribution. You can see other donated items and even place a bid (or two) online by visiting their blog at http://charitywingsnews.blogspot.com/

how i spent my summer vacation... continued

I got back to our vacation journal today and was happy to recall the great things we saw and did in Seattle in just one short day!

We got into town around 5:30 in the evening and, knowing our time there was limited, we headed downtown after checking into our motel. Our motel is a whole other story the moral of which is: do not believe everything you read on the internet!

Anyway, our highlight for the evening was the Space Needle. That is quite a view from the top. Also had a good chuckle at the expense of the man puking his guts out every time he looked over the edge. Not sure why he kept going back for another peek!

The next day we started out with coffee at Street Bean Espresso then walked down to the harbor. I was in people watching heaven. Another fascinating thing we spotted while walking along the Pier was that it was loaded with starfish. I've never seen them in their native habitat before, very cool.

Our final stop before having to leave town was Pike Place Market. We did not have nearly enough time to spend there. I would love to go back and spend 2 or 3 days just going through all the market stalls and shops.

From Seattle we drove back to Portland for one more night before flying back home. What a great vacation we had. Can't wait for the next one!

It's all about the Attitude

I was recently invited to be part of a collaborative project with the theme of "Sisters with Attitude". This collaboration was the brain child of Trudi Sissons of Two Dresses Studio fame in association with Craft Attitude.

Craft Attitude is a new, patented technology that allows your printed inkjet image to be separated from its original paper carrier and become part of a new surface when applied. You can find more information about this versatile new product at: http://www.craftattitude.com/

All of the images used for the project were provided by the most generous Marsha Jorgenson from Tumble Fish Studio and are available at www.deviantscrap.com. The collaboration contributors are the members of the Creative Team from Tumble Fish Studio.

Each day a new collaboration member's artwork is being featured on both the Craft Attitude website and the Craft Attitude Facebook page.

Trudi has done an amazing job organizing the work, photographing, publicizing, etc... and I am honored to be a part of this group!

I hope you will check out this fun product and discover the multitude of creative uses available.

Thank you, Trudi for including me, thank you Marsha for the images and thank you Craft Attitude for this great product!

Getting back into the swing of things

I've been away from my blog for a month and am still trying to get back into the swing of things.

our first selfies too - can you tell?

My husband and I took our first ever vacation just the 2 of
us. We spent a week of total togetherness and we can still stand to be around each other so I think that makes it a success.

We went to Portland, Spokane and Seattle. We visited relatives in Portland ad Spokane. Seattle was just for kicks.

Driving from Portland to Spokane we spent a little time at Multnomah Falls - the view was breathtaking. Actually everything around Portland was breathtaking! I was in awe of so many shades of green and the ferns growing wild (and healthy) all over the place.

We did not plan for nearly enough time in any one place but for this trip it was the best way.

Someday I would love to go back to Seattle for about 4 days and really get to look at few things in depth. I think I could spend 2 days just in Pike's Market!

Of course I will make a vacation journal as soon as things slow down a little. I got a start on it with this Portland page

.

The ferns for her hair represent the ferns growing wild all over the place. The few areas of rain are because it rained a little bit each day that we were there. The multi-colored background because overall it was just a colorful place. There were colorful areas of the city, colorful people (literally and figuratively), colorful plants, colorful landscapes - color everywhere. The 'thing' across the bottom is the tail end of a huge fresh salmon that Wade's aunt fixed for dinner the last night we spent there. It was wonderful.

Eventually I will get back to this journal and share Washington with you. Until then - thanks for stopping by.

Excited to share...

Coming soon to a store near you...

I am happy to be included in the upcoming November/December issue of Somerset Studio. And I'm doing the happy dance - one of the Artists' Paper pages is from one of my pieces.

Enjoy!
